Robert Stout:Karts, Clocks, and Breaking News

We came back with news.

Merrick Studios has been acquired by Savage. Five shows, nearly two hundred episodes, all moving under Savage TV. Unglossy. Mixed and Mastered. The Heavy Hitter DJs. Comic Culture. Two Mothers One Aché. Every show keeps its name, its hosts, and its point of view. If you subscribe somewhere, nothing changes on your end. Same feed, same place, same show. Tom Frank is now Chief Creative Officer at Savage and runs Savage TV.

Savage is a creative growth company. It builds reach and revenue for the people and events shaping culture across five worlds: motorsports, extreme sports, music, military and veterans, arts and culture. It starts with audience intelligence, not what's trending on top of a community but what that community is actually reaching for underneath. Which is why there's a race car driver sitting in the same room as Bun B.

That driver is Robert Stout. Brownsburg, Indiana. Go-karts as a kid. At eighteen years and one month, the youngest driver ever to win the Touring Car class at Long Beach. NASA regional and national championships. Six wins and nineteen podiums in Mazda MX-5 Cup. A Lucas Oil off-road UTV championship. A full season in Stadium Super Trucks going door to door with Robby Gordon. Most drivers pick one discipline. He kept changing the vehicle and kept winning.

He's also an announcer's kid. His father is Ken Stout, five seasons calling Monster Jam on SPEED and IHRA drag racing before that. One Stout spent twenty-five years telling you what just happened. The other one is out there making it happen.

Bun, Sledge and Tom get into the money nobody talks about, the sponsorship decks, the seasons that don't show up on a stat sheet, and where the line sits between an advantage and something people use to dismiss you. Plus Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge in Sydney, happening as this drops, with Savage drivers Yuuki Kamakura and Feras Qartoumy. Rotary against V8. Japan against America. One clock, and no argument left afterward.

Savage founder Eric Hipkins is coming on the show this season. His line: greatness isn't polished, it's forged. For a show called Unglossy, that felt like somebody had been reading our mail.
